The Willow
Rowville · Design & Build · Knockdown Rebuild · Custom Home
The Project
The clients bought this Rowville property because of the weeping willow in the backyard. They had no interest in removing it. The house was designed around the tree instead: the alfresco faces it directly, and the rear of the house is large picture-frame windows and sliding doors so you see it from every room at the back.
The design is Scandinavian-influenced: clean lines, natural materials, a palette that connects the interior to the garden. NE Homes handled all landscaping: native plants, outdoor lighting and materials that carry the internal palette outside. From first meeting to site start took four months, including a council planning permit.
“They bought the block for the tree. We built a 50-square house around it.”

Designed Around the Tree
The alfresco and rear living spaces face the weeping willow directly. The rear facade is large picture-frame windows and sliding doors, and the tree is visible from most rooms at the back of the house.
Record Prelim Timeline
From first meeting to site start in four months, including a council planning permit. The clients knew what they wanted from day one. That clarity made the timeline possible.
