About this policy

NE Homes (ABN 59 300 230 591) protects the privacy of individuals who interact with us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to that information. It applies to all personal information collected through our website at nehomes.com.au, by telephone, email, and in the course of providing our building services.

What information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us. This includes:

• Your name, phone number and email address when you contact us or complete an enquiry form
• Your property address or suburb, and the budget range you select, when you request information about a build
• Any additional information you provide in correspondence, meetings or site visits
• Financial information necessary for the preparation of proposals and contracts

We also collect information about how you use our website through cookies and analytics tools, including pages visited, time on site, referring sources and, through Microsoft Clarity, recordings of how you move through a page. We use this to improve the site, not to identify individual visitors. The tools are described under “Cookies and analytics” below.

How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect to:

• Respond to your enquiries and provide information about our services
• Prepare site assessments, proposals and building contracts
• Manage your building project from commencement to handover
• Communicate with you about your project, including progress updates
• Comply with our legal obligations under Victorian building legislation
• Improve our website and services

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for direct marketing without your consent.

Disclosure to third parties

In the course of delivering building services, we may share your information with subcontractors, engineers, architects, councils and other parties involved in your project. We share only what is necessary for those parties to perform their role.

We may also disclose your information where required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of NE Homes, its clients or others.

Storage and security

We store personal information on secure systems. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy, and to meet our legal obligations under Victorian building legislation, which requires certain records to be kept for a minimum of 10 years.

Enquiry forms

When you send an enquiry through the website, your details are delivered to our inbox as an email through Resend, an email service based in the United States. Resend handles the message only to deliver it. When an enquiry is sent successfully, Google Analytics records that an enquiry happened and which page it came from. It does not receive your name, contact details or message.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: which pages they visit, how they arrived, their device and browser, their approximate location and whether they tap our phone number or email address. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit from the next. You can stop it collecting your visits with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to see where the site is confusing or broken. Clarity records how you move through a page (clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement) and turns those sessions into replays and heatmaps. It collects your device, browser, screen size and approximate location, and sets cookies to link the pages of one visit together. Clarity masks what you type into our enquiry form before anything leaves your browser, so the replays we see never contain the details you enter.

To opt out of Clarity, turn on your browser's tracking protection or use a content blocker that blocks clarity.ms. Blocking cookies alone stops Clarity linking your pages together but does not stop recording. How Microsoft handles this data is set out in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

The site loads its icons from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers. The site does not run advertising or remarketing tags. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, which may affect the functionality of some parts of the site.

Overseas processing

The website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to run and secure the service. Vercel, Google, Microsoft and Resend are based in the United States, so information collected through the website may be stored or processed outside Australia.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete
• Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at nehomes.com.au/privacy. Continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
